Jessica, or Jess, is a registered psychologist who is currently undertaking the Clinical Psychology Registrar training in order to become a Clinical Psychologist.
Jess moved from Melbourne to the Gold Coast in 2018 specifically to pursue her career as a psychologist and has since worked in numerous environments including primary and secondary schools, hospital, and private practice. Jess has training across multiple treatment approaches and predominantly works from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework. Her approach with clients focuses on normalisation, validation, and empathy for people’s experiences as well as working together to help people move forward to living a fulfilled and value-driven life. Jess also aims to be flexible when working with clients, tailoring the therapy experience to suit the needs of each individual.
She has experience working across the lifespan however has a special interest and experience in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Jess also has had specific training and experience working in the treatment of eating disorders. Other areas of interest included depressive disorders and anxiety disorders. While these are specific areas of interest, Jess has experience working with a wide range of presenting problems. Her goal is to work with the client to determine the best course of action to help them achieve their goals from a place of compassion and empathy.
