Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in the first session?

Your psychologist will take time to understand your concerns, history, goals and what support you are looking for. Together, you will create a plan moving forward.

Do I need a GP referral to see a psychologist?

No. You can book privately without a referral. A GP Mental Health Care Plan is required only if you wish to claim Medicare rebates.

How much do sessions cost?

Our session fees follow the APS recommended guidelines and range from $150–$285. The exact fee depends on several factors, including whether you are using a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and whether your psychologist is provisionally registered, generally registered, or endorsed as a clinical psychologist.

Can I claim Medicare rebates?

Yes. Medicare rebates are available with a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

Do you offer online or telehealth appointments?

Yes. We offer both in-person and telehealth sessions for clients across Queensland and Australia.

How long are sessions?

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Assessment sessions may run longer depending on the testing required.

How many sessions will I need?

Treatment length varies based on your goals and concerns. Your psychologist will discuss a plan with you in your first session.

Do you provide support for children and teens?

Yes. We offer child and youth psychology services, including therapy, behavioural support, school collaboration and assessments.

Do you offer assessment or psychometric testing?

Yes. We provide cognitive and educational assessments including WISC, WAIS, WIAT and other validated tools.

Do you have after-hours appointments?

We offer a mix of daytime and limited after-hours appointments, depending on your psychologist’s availability.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online through our website or contact our reception team (07) 55207705 for support.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. This allows us to offer the session to another client.

Do you accept WorkCover, NDIS, DVA or insurance clients?

Yes. We accept WorkCover, NDIS (self- and plan-managed only), DVA, insurance and private clients.

Do you offer concession or bulk billing?

We occasionally offer concession rates or bulk-billing appointments. If you believe you may be eligible, please contact our admin team to discuss current availability.
